No, she is cisgendered. She has had some plastic surgery done and her appearance seemed to change after that.
Getting the last laugh! Wendy Williams “gets” why some people think she’s actually a man. “People think I was born a man,” the talk show host revealed in an interview with ABC News on July 8.
The topic came up when the 49-year-old was asked about transgender Orange Is the New Black star Laverne Cox (who recently became the first transgender person to be nominated for an Emmy), but Williams chose to address her own rumor mill instead.
“That’s absolutely not [true],” she said of the claim that she was actually a man. The opinionated host said she understands why some might think that.
“I get it. I have a strong face, a strong body, I’m 5′11. I wear a wig. I get it,” she said with a smile. “Am I mad about it? No.”
But that doesn’t mean Williams is called a man. “I understand where that’s coming from, but in my opinion, there’s no worse way to insult a woman than to say she looks like a man… [but] there’s nothing you can call me out on at this particular point. I’ve been dealing with it for decades.”
Another thing the talk show host has been dealing with over the years is abuse. As a child, Williams said his parents would “fat shame” him.
She said, "I spent my childhood in a lot of torture. "I didn’t grow up the popular girl, or the popular cheerleader. I never went to prom, I didn’t have many boyfriends, so I’m used to that side of life.
